The Advanced Test [Optional]
The RoSPA advanced test is regarded as the most comprehensive and challenging available to the public. It is monitored and approved by the Driving Standards Agency. The test lasts around 90 minutes, and is taken with a RoSPA Examiner, all of whom are serving or retired Police Officers, within the UK.
The RoSPA Advanced Riding Test is unique as it is graded Bronze, Silver or Gold. A RoSPA gold is the highest civilian riding standard available and the holder will be a master of his or her art. To see more about what is expected, download our Motorcycle Test Guidelines.
* The interim test exists for members who wish to take an additional test before their next three yearly retest is due, usually to improve their grade, and is offered at a reduced rate.
Unlike other Advanced Driving and Riding organisations, we require 3 yearly re-tests, to ensure that excellent riding standards are maintained. The re-test fee is included in your yearly subscription costs.
The three yearly retest will be free of charge as long as your RoSPA membership is up to date.
In addition, if a member has ‘dual membership’, they will pay only one subscription but the three yearly retest for the first vehicle is free (subject to the membership being up to date) and the initial and subsequent three yearly retest for the additional vehicle test is charged at the interim rate.
